Pious Asubonteng
The story of Pious is a very sad one.
He was a promising footballer in Ghana whose dream was to make it into the professional class.
After trying several attempts in Ghana, he decided to move to Europe through Libya.
In Libya, he was working at a construction site when he stepped on a landmine which took out one of his legs completely leaving the other in a very serious condition.
After receiving some treatments, he was brought back to Ghana.
His dreams of making it as a professional footballer was completely shuttered and had no other option but to beg on the streets of Kumasi to fend for himself and his two children.
The NDA Charity and our social media audience raise an amount of 21,360 GHS ($1,857) to assist him.
Out of the 21,360 GHS, we paid for 3 years rent advance for him and gave him the rest of the money to start up some trade.
