Alex the Acid Victim Returns to Ghana to Rebuild His Life

After enduring several medical treatments in Dubai, Alex, a survivor of a tragic acid attack, and his mother have made the difficult decision to return to Ghana.

The rising cost of living and the inability to work and support themselves played a major role in their decision. On January 1, 2025, they finally arrived back in Ghana, ready to start afresh.

During my time in Ghana, I made it a priority to meet Alex and his mother for the first time. We had a heartfelt conversation where he shared his plans and aspirations with me.

Despite the hardships he has faced, Alex remains determined to rebuild his life and provide for his family.

Through our social media platforms, we launched a fundraising initiative to support Alex’s path to self-sufficiency. Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our supporters, we were able to raise an amount of  about 45,000GH₵ ($3,000).

These funds will go a long way in helping him establish a business and regain financial stability.

Alex is a husband and father. He has two children and a supportive wife. Upon his return, he settled in Afieyna, where he currently resides with his wife, mother, and children.

With this fresh start, Alex hopes to create a sustainable future for his family and inspire others who have faced similar challenges.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to his cause, and we will continue to stand by him as he rebuilds his life.

Stay tuned for more updates on Alex’s journey as he takes steps toward a brighter future.
